Pat O’Brien files as a candidate for Arkansas Secretary of State

Pat O'Brien filed paperwork at the State Capitol today to place his name on the ballot in the Democratic Primary as a candidate for Arkansas Secretary of State. The Democratic Party nominee will be decided in the May 18th Primary Election. "While I have been running hard for almost a year, I can see the finish line from here. I feel good; momentum continues to build behind our campaign and I'm ready to finish strong," Pat said from the rotunda.

If no candidate receives over 50% of the vote in the Primary, there will be a Runoff Election three weeks later on June 8th. The Democratic Party nominee will face off against the Republican Party nominee in the November General Election. Prior to public service, Pat had a successful law practice and served as Director of Operations for JKP Foods, Inc., running seven McDonald's restaurants in North Pulaski County. He is a native of Jacksonville, Arkansas, and received both his Bachelors and Juris Doctorate degrees from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.
