Pat O’Brien Breaks Previous Fundraising Records Again

(Little Rock, Arkansas) – Pulaski Circuit/County Clerk Pat O’Brien announced today that his campaign for Secretary of State received contributions of $50,207.50 from 366 contributors in the third quarter of 2009 for a cumulative $173,058.54 raised. For the second consecutive quarter he raised more than any previous candidate in a primary election for Arkansas Secretary of State.  “This quarter we asked regular Arkansans to make an investment in their future, and with the average contribution of around $137, they did.” There is also $3,562.50 of in-kind contributions included in the total raised this quarter.

The number of supporters making online contributions more than doubled this period bringing in $5,760. “The launch of our new website and our efforts through social media, like Facebook, have really paid dividends,” O’Brien said of the campaign’s online efforts. “Political fundraising and communicating with voters in 2009 is very different than it was just four or eight years ago.” A copy of the Campaign Contribution and Expenditure report may be found on the campaign website at http://www.patobrienforarkansas.com/content/campaign-finance-reports.
