It's My Son's 40th Birthday!

Gladys OBrien

Tomorrow, my son Pat will turn 40 years old! It’s hard to believe he is that old because I haven’t aged that much. Anyway, I want you to be part of the birthday celebration and my gift to him.

When Pat was a teenager working in our McDonalds restaurant he sold a hamburger, fries and a drink to people for around three dollars. At the end of each day when he counted the money in his register, he was amazed at how much money was there, after collecting just a few dollars from each customer. He came to understand how a few dollars from a lot of people was enough to keep a restaurant and our family in business. I remember his Dad, Mike, saying “It’s not how much they spend, it’s how many spend.”

Pats 40!Right now, the most important thing to Pat is to serve the public as Secretary of State. I want to help him get there and I hope you will to. For his birthday consider sending Pat one dollar for each year he has been my son - $40.00. If you are a fan of the ’60s like me, please celebrate 1969 by contributing $19.69 to Pat’s campaign. For autumn lovers, you can salute the fall day he was born, October 8th, with a $10.08 contribution. Remember, it’s not how much you give but just that you give. Thanks for helping me give Pat a memorable 40th birthday.

Yours Truly,

Gladys O’Brien
